I am new to the efi live division of tuning gas engines.I am very used to the diesel tuning from efi,but noticed that the gas tuning is a different world.I am tuning a 2000 5.3 liter chevy.I was wanting some information on what tables to boost for power throughout. Thanks for your input.

Start with getting rid of the PE delay (B3608).

Start with adding about 2-4 degrees of timing in the (B5908).
Then lean out the PE AFR.

Watch for knock, and also you can mess with the burst knock tables becuase stock they are agressive. Ive found its best just do zero out all the burst knock tables. (for some reason burst knock which is used to stop knock before it happens seems to cause knock.)

Remeber a leaner AFR ratio (13-13.5) burns faster than a 12-13 AFR, so a leaner AFR needs and wants less timing.

Ive been looking at diesel tuning and it looks a lot harder compared to just leaning out the stock AFR and adding some timing.

Welcome to the forum EFIed Dmax!

Unlike an oil burner, there's not quite as much to be gained on a bone stock gas engine.
