I believe it would be the transient fueling tables which are not available yet...

Hi Lee,

Those transient fuel tables should not be far away and they should help with a pump shot. For now you can over compensate with more VE in those areas to help out with the flat spots

Power Enrichment (PE) is similar to a Power valve, check out all the constants and tables in this area as 1 can effect the other.

Get used to thinking Equivalence Ratio (EQ/R) and converting it to AFR for your better understanding. Watch out for multipliers that have an effect on your tables, In time it will fall in place.

Also, as far as these EQ/R modifiers, why not have them setup to be either a % increase/decrease or just a another AFR number?

For example:

A0008 Open Loop ECT

Right now you use numbers like 1.08 to increase it but why not make it real simple and let us put in just 8 for 8% increase or -.5 for a -1/2%

- or -

13.2 for a commanded 13.2 AFR at the particular temp

So, you do the math within the program and let us idiots use numbers that are more understandable.

The PCM uses EQ as a base unit...

1.08 EQ means 1.08 times stoich... that's simple enough, no math involved there (it is plain to see the 8% increase).

A multiplier table does not have any units, it is just a multiplier applied to some EQ to give a resulting EQ...

a multiplier 1.08 means 1.08 times the EQ.

The PCM also uses units g*K/kPa for the VE table... using these units means you don't have to know cylinder volume or air temperature.

By using "normalized" units like that the PCM's algorithms can be made more generic.

Remember that the GM PCM was intended for street-driven emissions-passing driveabilty-quality production cars...
it is a very complex and very capable PCM... it even monitors itself and tells you when something is wrong.

To understand it you have to think like the PCM does.

As MICK said, learn to think in EQ... it takes a little getting used to, but it will make your understanding deeper.
