I am ready tp purchase flash scan and download 7.0. Presently I have EFILive 6.0 pro version.

What I am unsure about is the following. I have three PCM for our
2000SS:

Oiginal PCM, modified only to lower fan temperatures a bit and allow revs to go to 6400 rpm. Given my mods I meet emissions in NY with flying colors with this one.

Tuner PCM which inlcudes programming for my heads/cam, LS6 intake,
ported TB, shorty headers and other std. bolt ons.

An stock programmed pcm which has version updates for the 2000 model year, no other chnages. This is my back-up.

Can I modifiy with the single personal license all three PCMs. They all
are configured to work in my car? Or do I need to pick one for tuning with flash scan?

Hi Gert,

If you want to program all three then you will need three PCM licenses.
2 will ship with the cable as standard and you can purchase a third for $99.00

However, the days of "spare" PCMs are numbered. With EFILive you can just keep the three different tunes on your laptop and reflash whichever one you want before you drive out of your garage - it only takes 30 seconds.

I'm pretty sure you can't swap out a PCM for a spare in those 30 seconds.

Thanks for the explanantion. The two included PCM licenses will obviously suffice in my case. I'll put the third PCM on ice for study by future
generations of automotive historians....

Hello,

I downloaded the evaluation software. I think it should work with the
old atap interface - the flash scan interfaceis not available yet.
Is any of the tuning supposed to work at this point - I tried but none
of the menues seemed to be activated?

Gert,

No, the tuning functionality won't work with any of the old Autotap interface cables. Do you have any questions about what you've seen thus far?

Have you opened a *.tun file in the Tuning Tool software?
The sample *.tun files are located in My Documents\EFILive\V7\bin

I am mostly interested in the tuning capability - I am pretty happy
with V6 pro and, as a matter of fact, only use probably 20% of the
functionality of that program (monitoring key parameters, log files,
and using some of the bidirectional features from time to time).

If I notice anything which is particularly noteworthy I can share it here,

I forgot to add that you can't use the V7 Scan Tool to log data using AutoTap interfaces until we issue V7 upgrade licenses.
We will do that once the product is shipping.

Any vehicle that can be scanned using the PC based EFILive Scan Tool can also be scanned using black box logging, there is no restriction.
