Hi guys,
Just a heads up. Yesterday I received a recall notice from GM on our 07 LMM 3500. Very vague not even a campaign number attached. But here's what it says.

We have learned that your 2007 model year Chevrolet Silverado, equipped with a 6.6 Duramax Diesel V8 engine, was produced with a programming error that can result in Engine Control Module memory damage and will cause the engine not to crank or start. This is more likely to occur the longer you operate your vehicle.

Then goes on and says they will reprogram the ECM with revised software to remedy the problem.

I hadn't fooled with it (yet)! Probly a good thing. Worst fuel mileage I've ever had with a diesel truck. 8 low and 12.3 highest interstate at 63 mph.

Good luck guys, John:blahblah:

Just had a customer call after the reflash was done and his EFI will not talk with the ecm.

Hi IdadoRob, did the guy apply the update patches for EFILive for the new OS? If so I know there were two releases. One for the beta and one for the stable version of EFILive. Or is there a newer OS version now?

I threw mine away, and won't even consider it until I find out that my Efi Live will work with it. I would not be surprised that they're doing this to lock the tuners from accessing the computer, instead of trying to fix a potential problem they say exists that I have not even heard a whisper of on the diesel boards.

If you type a 2007 VIN in to CalID this is the OS number that comes back - 12628594. This is the same one that is in the 2008 LMM's.
The reason for the update shows as - EEPROM Fix, DTCs P062F, P0633, replaces all previously released software.
So it seems valid because the AntiTheft data is stored in the EEPROM (so is the reflash history too :hihi:).

Oh, and EFILive can, and is already tuning 2008 trucks with the 12628594 OS.

Cheers,
Ross

I can not get efi live to work anymore after my recall was done on my ecm any help. My check engine light is on because DPF has been removed I hope I do not have to put it all back on before I can pull the stock program back out to do a tune

What is your problem?

Have you applied the correct updates for the version of EFI-LIVE you are running?

Or is the issue getting the old tune back on?
