My laptop crashed and I tried downloading the software but when I connect to the truck it gives me an error code saying no interface cable found. I am assuming I need to download a driver for this as well? If so where can I find the software for this and how do I install correctly?

here are downloadable drives from efilive

http://www.efilive.com/download.aspx

No also, Ive had this problem a few times.

1. I didnt connect all the cables in propper order
2. Another is, if I have the laptop power plugged into the car to charge the battery, it wont connect. It has to be on battery mode to connect, then I can plug in to charge. *shrugs*

I pm'd Tech Support.

NG, do you have FlashScan V1 (small rectangular) or V2 (curvey sides with blue LCD)...?

If you download the latest V7.5.4 software from here:
http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=8289 (It's about 60Mb so it could take a while)
Once that software is installed there will be a program called usbview in the folder \Program Files\EFILive\Drivers\Utilities.
Or you can download just the usbview program here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Resources/Utilities/usbview.zip

However, if you are using Win2K, WinXP or Vista, that V7.5.4 installation will install the USB drivers correctly during the installation process. So I highly recommend installing it.

Anyway, please connect your FlashScan and run that program, you should see EFILive FlashScan show up somewhere in the displayed devices.
If you don't then the drivers are probably not installed correctly.
