ive tried the latest version and the old version from a EFI cd
here is the error: Cannot open C/doc and setting/ simon orford/my documents/efi live / 7.5/userconfig/calc pids/ accsess denied

Try the following:
1) Backup your 'C:\Program Files\EFILive' and 'My Documents\EFILive' folders
2) Uninstall all EFILive software and drivers
3) Delete the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EFILive' registry key usng 'regedit'
4) Install the new software and drivers
There are no know issues that I am aware of with software installation, other than Admin privileges on Vista (you still appear to be running XP at the latest.

Are you able to make your user account a member of the 'Administrators' group? This can be done in Computer Management under Local Users and Groups.
It definitely sounds like a permissions/access issue.
