Can I use the old AutoTap V1 (RS232) with EFILive still?
It is the AutoTap/EFILivePro version.
How do I get older versions of EFILive that work with it?
EFILive v7 does not work.
I think it is a AT1EFIPRO. I'll go check....

The latest version of EFILive works with serial and USB AutoTap cables. A change was made in this latest release to fix a bug that caused the AutoTap cable to not work. So previous versions will not support AutoTap but the latest one V7.5.4 will.
It is available here:

This one is RS232. It is a KAT1EFIPRO, the AT1 model.
Ideas?

I'll give it a try tonight....
I found this here: http://efilive.com/faq.aspx
I have an AutoTap Scan Tool. Can I use EFILive?
Yes, you may purchase an EFILive registration key that allows you to use the EFILive V7 Scan Tool software with your AutoTap V2-AT1, V2-AT123 and ATU interface cable(s).
EFILive V7 is not compatible with AutoTap V1 cables (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:popupwindow%28%27http://www.autotap.com/EFILive.html%27,%27printDoc%27,%27800%27,%27600%27 ,%27yes%27%29) KATUEFISTD or KATUEFIPRO.

He said it came with EFILive v5. But I can't find V5 out there. Is it still lurking around? It is circa 2003.

Autotap hooked up me with the correct AutoTap registration info and EFILive's V6 registration info. They said that is what that one was setup for.
What vehicles can be used with V6?

If you have a V6 registration you can upgrade it free to V7, just email me your V6 registration details (paul@efilive.com) and I'll send you back a V7 registration.

So the V1 and V2 are described as looking the same. Is there a way to tell which we are looking at?

Look on the side of the AT1 unit and you will either see a silver sticker with a serial number on it or you won't. If the sticker exists then it is a V2, if there is no sticker then it is a V1 (V1's do not have serial numbers).
If you think the sticker may have been removed, then you'd need to hook it up to EFILive (and a vehicle to supply power), and attempt to connect to it. EFILive will show whether it is a V1 or a V2.
First image: select the AutoTap V1 cable type.
Second image: select to connect to FlashScan only - which simply means only make a connection to the interface cable (AutoTap or FlashScan) and not to the vehicle.
Third image: display the [F6 Console] tab page and view the details that are displayed by EFILive.
