I just upgraded my 98 (02 PCM) TA from 346ci turbo to 416ci procharger. I used the same cam intake and injectors. I used larger CC heads to drop compression. other than recalibrating the VE table, is there any setting that basically tells the computer it is dealing with more displacement? All the AFR calculations are made based on the 346 correct? I was looking at B0104 cylinder volume does this need to be changed? and what effect would it have? all I have done thus far is increased the VE table 15% the car runs almost exactly as it did before with the exception of:
1. Hard to start (cranks and cranks pops and sputters) I am not even sure where to start with this one? desired airflow need to increase for larger motor? or maybe AFR when cranking?
2.The pesky 1500 RPM bucking has disapeared:grin:
Thanks

B0104 is what you'd change for displacement. The PCM uses this for load calcs.

I think you do have to change B0104 for the cylinder volume, I've never had to do it before though, so hopfully someone else will chime in.
I've had good luck adjusting the cranking VE to help with hard starting. when I put a cam and new intake on my VE overall went up in the area of 10-15% over stock so I raised my cranking VE about 15% and it helped out alot.

Thank you! I calculated 852CC per cylinder I will also try raising the VE while cranking table and see how it starts.

forgot to mention, I also raised my commanded fuel while cranking a little as well. but try one at a time to see what helps the most.

B0104 is what you'd change for displacement. The PCM uses this for load calcs.

there we go. just for my own curiosity, how do you go about calculating this?
I would think:

(pi*R^2)*S

where R = 1/2 the bore diameter, and S = the stroke.

or you could take your current displacement / 8 and convert to CC's.

416 CI =6.81701862 liter
6.817 liter = 6817CC
6817 divided by 8 = 852

changing that and adding 15% to cranking VE did not seem to help start problem, I am going to try another 5% tomorrow

I have added 15 % to my ve table and still chase my tail on ltft's . I went from a 346 (5.7 l) to a 364 (6.0) with a slight change in the cam.
346 had a f 13 (230/232 .598/.588 112 lsa 108 cl) and the f14 in the 6.0 is 232/234 .599/.599 112 lsa 108 cl.

Same heads as before but combustion chamber worked for the bigger bore , I did not know to fool with the B0104 table.

Could this being corrected help satisfy the Ltft's?

Now that my Wideband is working with bbl and using serial , i am going to do the ve tuneing but just wondering about that B 0104

I have not driven the car yet, but I would think that the PCM needs to know what size engine you have to do correct calculations

Check engine light came on P0342 cam sensor there was a notice enclosed with the motor about needing to reverse the wires on some years, I am hoping that is my starting issue, I will try tomorrow
