Vigilante TCC, TCC PWM, lockups, and you

I have 4L70E with a Vigilante TCC.

I've noticed immediately, that from stock, the TCC locks up much quicker. Watching logging, it seems to always completely lock up around 24% to 35% TCC PWM. So, even though PWM climbs up higher (ultimately to 80+%), it doesn't lock any more than it already is.

However, the actual moment it locks, it's a very firm lock that I'd like to smooth up just a little.

If I make Max TCC PWM in the 50% range, will the ramp rate slow down?

What is the purpose of changing max TCC PWM?

I wouldnt set the max that low. My max is 100 and min is 85 as per recommendations on here. I run a 2400 stall. I THINK it would be better to adjust the ramp rate, but I could be wrong. My lock ups feel like it shifts again, they are a bit nasty. But ive had bad luck with TC so I like it locked up to help keep a bit of heat (from slip) outta the tranny.

Keep the max at 100%... you still want the max pressure since this will prevent slippage when you apply big torque and the unlock conditions are not yet met.

As CB said, adjust the ramp rate.

Your TCC has about double the surface area compared to the stock one... it will "grab", this is normal...
firm is good (no slip during apply), smooth is not good (slip during apply).
