View Full Version : This may suck... or the Evap Purge and OL

I just noticed after about 50,000 miles or so that running OL disables
the Evap Purge. Might anyone know the pros/cons of not having the
Evap purging? I noticed nothing either way.

I know first hand what happens, it fills up and stinks bad!!
There is a parameter to enable it in open loop {B0505}. I'd suggest to enable it.

Cheers,
Ross

Is that only in certain operating systems? I don't see {B0505} in my COS 01270003

Should be in all OS's including the custom ones.
When was the last time you updated your software?
Looking back over my LS1 update notes we added that parameter back in Feb 2007!

Well when I searched earlier it wouldn't find it, but I did it again and it worked. I guess I must have mis-typed something. Thanks :)

BTW, does the purge canister work when in semi-open loop mode (STT enabled, but LTT disabled)?

Thanks!
I did change it in {B0505}.
I didn't notice any difference or smells,
But I will leave it enabled.
Thanks again

I don't remember exactly but it is certainly disabled if running an EFILive custom OS as they is pretty much forced open loop most of the time.

Leave it enabled, one day it will fill up otherwise, it takes a while.
