One of the custom operating systems has fault that will cause a PCM to enter an infinite reset loop. Once the PCM is in that loop it will become unresponsive and can not be reflashed.

The operating system is 02040003.tun.

DO NOT FULL-FLASH OPERATING SYSTEM 02040003.tun INTO ANY PCM

A corrected verison of 02040003.tun is available from this page:
http://www.efilive.com/downloads/downloads_os.html

Paul

The following calibration tables may be corrupted by EFILive.

D1101 Low Pressure Adjust 1-2 Shift
D1102 Low Pressure Adjust 2-3 Shift
D1103 Low Pressure Adjust 3-4 Shift

D1104 High Pressure Adjust 1-2 Shift
D1105 High Pressure Adjust 2-3 Shift
D1106 High Pressure Adjust 3-4 Shift

D1107 High Pressure Adjust

These tables define the limits to which the adaptive shift algorithms can adjust the High and Low transmission line pressures.

EFILive treats the values in these tables incorrectly resulting in incorrect limits being set. The result of having incorrect values in these tables is that adaptive shift learning will be limited to the incorrectly altered values in these tables.

There is currently no workaround. A new version of EFILive will be released shortly to fix the problem. Once the fix is available, you should check (and update) the values in any of the above tables with known, good, stock calibrations.

Paul

I just noticed my values are not right. When are you going to have the fix in Paul?

Thanks,

V7.3 pre-release 004.

We keep holding off the final delivery of V7.3 in the hopes that at least some 98 support can be included. But that may not happen.

It went out to the beta testers last night.
I need to fix one or two minor issues that were found, then I'll post it up here in a few hours: http://www.efilive.com/downloads/downloads_730.html

I just upgraded. I did get the notice the Out Of Range Calibrations. One then I notice was the Base Pressure data still showed the brackets after I saved the tune but not in the one that was showing on the screen. If I went into each cal and saved it again the brackets went away. No big problem just wanted to let you know. I just saved it a few times to get rid of the brackets.

Throw those saved files away Bill. The "out of range" values are only out of range because EFILive is corrupting them. Saving the tun file only brings the values back into range it does not restore their correct value.

For example: the values should be around -5, EFILive incorrectly treats the -5 as 250 (signed/unsigned problem). If hard limit is, say 30 then EFILive replaces the 250 with 30 (i.e. brings it into range). However, 30 is not the correct -5 that it shuold be.

The wrong *.cal files were supplied.
New cal files wil be available shortly.

Hi Paul,

I already have those numbers in the PCM. Should I be concerned? When are you going to have the new cals?

Bill, if you are using internet explorer, move the mouse off the image, then back on for a few seconds. you should see a box appear in the bottom right of the image. click it and the image will expand to full size making it legible.

For those of you using Microsoft IE (I am using Firefox) how do you make the thumbnails appear? I cannot see any thumbnails when I use IE.

Paul

depends on the version of IE, and if you have the "Enable Automatic Image Resizing" (found in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Multimedia) box checked

Is that what you were asking for?

I don't mean how do I make the resize button appear. I mean how do I make the thumbnail image in the actual post appear in the IE browser. For all intents and purposes, I cannot tell that there is any image attached to that post at all when using IE (6.0.29).

just upgraded to the public release of v7.3 and checked my version and it says version 7.70 Date Oct 4

I see this Check that all calibration files display version 7.74 or later: on the main page.

do i need to go download new cal files? or do i need to go thru the registry and delete those files mentioned, I figured that the version of the cal files didn't have to do with anything of the registry but i could be wrong

Yeah known problem if the files came off cd or maybe manually copied. Just delete them and do a repair or reinstall. Check the thread in flashscan.
Also updated sae_generic is available to fix a small issue with LC-1 devices.
I had to sort my cal files out too.
