Hey Guys,
So, I am working on a customers sprint car that we have an E-38 in and I would like to get a Autometer tach working. Problem is, what do I tell the computer to get the correct output signal.
Thanks for any help at all,

may be too late. the tach setup should be set for crank and high and low pulses set to 15. the autometer tach should be set for 4 cyl mode. we had to put a pull up resistor in the signal wire also. you may not. we have a e38 with an ls3

Thanks,
I will have to give this a try when the car comes back in. What type of resistor did you use and what did you pull it up to, 12 or 5 volts?
Thanks,

680ohm resistor between the 12v ignition wire and the tacho input wire which basically jumps a 5v signal upto 9v and there you go a tach signal
try that

Worked Great, I actually only had 1.2k ohm resistors, so I paralleled 2 of them and soldered in and everything worked. Thanks for the info and help.
