Will this stop the hard disk working solid for about 5mins after Chrome is started?, I'm starting to find myself opening up IE7 a little more now.

Probably google expanding its search capabilities to include YOUR hard drive!

My data is boring crap , EFIlive , and other Automotive related stuff . :secret:
I think Chrome is loosing it's luster . :help2:

Yeah, back to Firefox as the main browser for me. Interestingly there's a number of speed comparisons out there on the net between all three browsers, no guessing which one is a memory hungry slow hog, but Firefox still out performed Chrome in almost all area's including memory useage.

Could it be you took the full offering which includes Google Desktop Search?
That is notoriously active and invasive. It locates and catalogs everything preemptively.
