mdnsresponder.exe

Does this file have any real use for anything in windows? My virus/firewall is stopping it from communicating unknown data quite frequently.
trying to increase windows performance rid the puter of bugs if they exist.

mDNSResponder is a Bonjour system service implrmenting DNS service discovery;

Bonjour is Apple's "zero" configuration networking, it enables automatic discovery of what is on the IP network.

Installed with iTunes and/or some other software.

To remove it:
- open command window
- cd C:\Program Files\Bonjour
- mdnsresponder -remove
- rename/delete mdnsNSP.dll (it won't allow itself to be deleted, so rename it)
- restart windows.
