I locked a PCM on one of my own cars a while back just playing with the lock feature. I let efi generate a lock code, I could lock and unlock it fine. Fast forward to now and I try to unlock it and efi wont unlock it. Then it hits me, I had the orginal V2 box I had go out and I have a differnt one now. Is that why I cant unlock it? When I plugged into the car it acted as if I never plugged into it before. I still have the same laptop, and same streams in the V2 its just a differnt V2. Can I unlock it? Is the unlock code on my laptop somewhere? I really need into the pcm tochange some things ASAP.

Thanks

i think when you lock the PCM,
it is locked to the cable itself. (V1/V2)

Depending on how long ago and which version of the software you are running , im sure it now backs up all of the locks and licenses on the PC so that you can send one back to get repaired under warranty and apply them to the new one.

This may help with what you need. I dunno

Locate the file \Program Files\EFILive\V7.5\PCMLocks.ini
Open the file with Notepad and find the section that matches the PCM's serial number that you want to unlock. Send the seed and key values to me at paul@efilive.com and I will send you back the unlock code.

You need to find the file PCMLocks.ini (In the folder - \Program Files\EFILive\V7.5\Configuration), in that is the serial number and encrypted unlock code for every controller you lock. Take note of the serial number of the ECM you are trying to unlock (you can see that by using the 'Show PCM info' function in the tune tool) Flash > Show PCM Info

Locate the serial number in the locks.ini file and send the info to either Paul or myself and we can give you the unlock code.

You will need to look for something like this in the ini file -

[2148CT053VK1]
Seed=$2590
Key=$4A0E56A0

Where:
[2148CT053VK1] = The PCM Serial Number
Seed=$2590 = The Seed of the PCM
Key=$4A0E56A0 = The encrypted Unlock code

Cheers,
Ross

Edit: You beat me to it Paul!
