Today my v2 decided it no longer will power up from a usb port (tried 3 different computers). The dlc must be connected before it will power up.
all that lights is the green led on the far right.
Is there a common failure in this unit that can be repaired or do I always have to connect to a dlc to get enough power to run the v2 from now on?

When you plug it in to the USB port does windows give the 'bing bong' sound?

did you try a new USB cable?
my EFILive USB cable developed a short in it recently.

If it still fails, contact Ira (http://forum.efilive.com/member.php?u=416).

tried 3 different cables
if i plug into the usb port WITHOUT dlc connected flashscan screen does not even flicker and the green led on the right comes on steady
once i connect the dlc the computer goes bing bong and flashscan lights up and works correctly

I had a similar problem.
The USB port protection (USB6B1) chip had popped.
The earth had gone open circuit, so it would only power up if you connected it to the car.
