I had a 2009 G8 on the dyno yesterday and couldnt download the trans tune. I was able to get the motor tune with no problem. Has anyone else aeen this? It would download until around 20% and lock up every time.

I have seen something similar when the GMLAN was incorrectly terminated. i.e. did not have the 120ohm resistor across it when the TCM was on the bench and ECM was not connected. Cant imagine you have the same thing being a complete vehicle. Though a dealer buddy of mine reports that most faults are simply loose connectors that have popped out.

FWIW.

I am tuning the car next week after installing a CAI, UD pulley and cat back. I need to have this resolved by then.

Software versions and V2 firmware versions you are using.

If you do online update you will get up to build 66 and firmware .20
Not sure if that will help, but it might..

Hopefully by the time the car is back in your shop we will have the 2009 TCM mapped out. I expect it to be done by Tuesday (my time), Monday US time. I know there is about 5 new TCM OS's for 2009, so the G8 might be using one of them.
But I think the 2009's are still using the TCM OS 24243170 which is already supported, but these days who knows, there might be another update as the G8 seems to be a small step ahead of the country where they are made

With regards to the read issues, so far none of the local 2009 Holdens are reporting similar issues.

Cheers,
Ross

GREAT NEWS!!! Had the G8 back in the shop today and was able to read and flash the transmission. Did a dyno tune on it, picked up right at 30hp and 20tq if I remember right.
