Hi DrDI(Steve...?),

Do you have the auto trans... it seem to me that you have DFCO enabled... see B3313.

Also:
- closed loop trimming is still enabled (B3801, B4205).
- cat protection is still enabled (B0701).
- at wot advance varies too much, need to look into this.
- why is advance so low...?

Joe :)

Try a small amount of smoothing to your VE table after changing it.
Note, after driving around and getting the high hit areas of the ve table, consider this. Pick points at IDLE(b), (LOW RPM, HIGH KPA)(c),
(MAX TRQ RPM, HIGH KPA)(f), and (HIGH RPM, HIGH KPA)(h). Carefully blend these points in to the rest of the table.

What works for me on a,d,g (most of the DFCO occurs here).
a,d,g = look at the stock table values for a, b, and c. Adjust a,d,g, in a manner proportional to a stock ve table. IE, if there is a 10% drop from b to a, and you know b, then adjust a. This will give you a good starting point to work with.

VE TABLE:
a----------b-------------c
. .
. .
d----------e------------ f
. .
. .
g----------------------- h

What are your mods...?

You may have initially increased your VE table too much.

todays ve. fingers xed joe-i repeated from logging to cal twice and showed 0.8 on the bens at 15.2 down ...the pe table is raw (not smoothed or edited) and the timing is from factory also increased whole table by 12% instead of 15%

Hmmm... I would disable B3801...

Is that .tun file the result after paste-multiplying...?

Now do it again, make sure to operate throttle smoothly, and apply the BEN filter.

What are your mods...?

i turned 3801 on only for logging(will do)
i think i followed the auto ve filter process very close with the paste and multiplying then comparing the two tunes together and applying the ve difference and i have ls1 ,heads , machined throttle body, pacemaker extracters 4into1, auto4l60e
one thing ive noticed is that the engine is more responsive at bottom end..

I could be wrong, but it looks like your scanning software is logging IMPERIAL and your TUNING software is in METRIC.

RIGHT CLICK on the PIDs in the scanning software on SAE.MAP and select
METRIC, so the two will match. You will have to start from scratch if this is the case.

I'm trying to figure out why ALL of your VE changes are at high KPA only.

I agree, it all looks wrong...

Also, in tunetool, set set:
- VE display units to g*K/kPa.
- CF display units to AFR or EQ (commanded fuel).

Start again from the beginning (I think you can go 10% or even 8%, but I don't know your mods), and post:
- the starting tune (setup for AutoVE),
- the AutoVE log,
- the tune with BEN applied.

When done with 1 pass of AutoVE, leave SD/OL as is, do not return to MAF/CL, do not alter anything.
