Transmission for 2002 Savana Van flash

I have a 2001 s-10 with a current LS1 style transmission. I have flashed the pcm with a tune from a 2002 Savana van. Which transmission can i use? Do i have to stick with the LS transmission or can i use the LT1 design with the removable dust shield? The engine is a Gen1 small block

Basically, I was wondering if the transmission controller part of the 2002 Savana van pcm is any different than that of a 1996 LT1 system? could I use the old style transmission with the LS1 pcm?

From what I can make out, the AT connector is different... you have to replace it with the earlier style and pin it.
