View Full Version : Can not get a 4-5 shift out of A6 at Track

Just took our project G8 to the track this weekend, and as I was more then impressed with the results. I knew that there was more in the car, since she wouldn't complete the 4 to 5 shift at the track.

Car ran out of gear (4th) at about the 1000' mark, and even in manual shift mode would not complete the shift. :( Basically just sat in the revlimiter.

It seemed as though it wanted to make the shift, it just couldn't.

The only thing I have done to the tranny tune, so far has been take out half of the TQ managment, and lowered the shift point 100 RPM, to better suit the turbos TQ curve.

Anyone care to shed any light on what needs to be modified to get it to complete this shift?

I changed my rpm changes to 6800 and cross the line in 3rd gear @ 114MPH. Can you shed some light as to why you are changing gears so many times. BTW mine is N/A

Just curious, have you looked at THIS THREAD (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=9389)? Not sure if you maxed that table out but sounds like it can cause weird issues...

Sorry I meant the 3-4 shift my bad.......

Here is the video that you can hear from the in car shot, the odd delay on the shift. That is my manually commanding the shift, literally starting the second the 2-3 shift has been completed. Once it "decides" to shift it does it, but it just takes it forever to do so.

By all means I am not complaining at all, just know that I could have gone 10's if it would have made that shift on time.
