Vortec 5.7 problems

Trying to tune a 99 Escalade with the 5.7. When I try to flash, it get through the 4 steps of initializing the PCM then stops at setp 1 of 4 when it tries to initailize the bootloader. Then it tells me that it failed because of no response. Whats the problem? Do i have to pull any fuses?

Make sure you are using the latest software and firmware.

As of October 31, 2008 you should have:
- EFILive V7.5.5 build 73
- EFILive V8.1.2 build 43

If you are using FlashScan V2, you should have:
- FlashScan bootblock V2.06.02
- FlashScan firmware V2.06.05

I have build 42 of V8 would that really be the problem?

No, the V8 software version won't be the problem directly. The firmware version of FlashScan V2 (if you're using a V2) could be. The latest firmware is only available as part of the latest V8 (build 43) download.

Does your V2 have the latest firmware (V2.06.05)?
