Good Morning Forumers, and Happy Turkey Day.

I'm new to the forum and have a couple of questions. How can i change the shift points on my truck? How do i retrieve the pcm parameters and save them for tweeking. As you can see I'm new to EFILIVE.
I have a 4.5 lly with a 1056 TC, 6spd. shift kit line press. boost valve. and a custom made one pieace flywheel/flexplate. FPRV valve shimmed with two washers. Thank you and sorry for the igno.:help2:

rock04max, welcome and Happy Thanksgiving Day...

To read calibrations from PCM:
- make sure vehicle battery has full charge,
- power laptop from non-vehicle source,
- connect cable/interface to vehicle and to laptop,
- turn ignition key on,
- start tunetool,
- go Flash->Read Calibrations,
- set controller type,
- press Start,
- wait until reading finishes,
- turn ignition key off, and leave it off for at least 15 seconds,
- acknowledge the box that says turn ignition key off for at least 15 seconds,
- go File->Save Tuning File and save the file,
- exit the tunetool,
- save the tuning file in several safe places (CD, USB fob).

Then offline from the vehicle, open the saved file with the tunetool, goto the Transmission Calibation segment, goto Shift at VSS, you will see Upshift and Downshift folder, look at the tables in there.

You may want to read the tunetool/scantool use manual pdf's, they have lots of useful info.

Cheers,
Joe

Thank you very much. I've been having a problem with my truck feeling like i'ts being held back. I've gotten DTC's 0741 0700. No slipping codes. Get's hot in the high gears even when i'm going slow.
