ok finially got XP and now when i try to upgrade firmware i get a error...i totally forgot what it exactly said but it was something along the lines of...

......checksums....file is corrupt.

I am not to worried cause 12.13 is working fine for me right now.

if the EFILive does not lock up on you then cool.
the newer RR firmware was intended to resolve issues like that.
maybe the newer versions of EFILive help to eliminate that problem.

"Firmware package checksum mismatch. Package is corrupt."

Anyone have any guesses? My XP computer give me that, vista does not even see RR

This is the firmware and installer I used on my RR a fair while ago, been on my laptop for a while, try it and see if it works for you.

i have thought about posting this stuff myself,
but i had questioned whether or not it would be cool
with the BOSS (Blacky) because of the possibility of a bad
download causing problems for someone and what not.

now that Moates has it back up, it`s on him.

so other than trying that file what should i do? is there a way to contact Moates and see whats up?

ok well i used limited cv8r's program and the file i had from moates' and it "worked" but when it was done my RR said it was version 84.84T and then my car threw about every code it could. And now if i try different 12.14R files i have it says that they are wrong. So i closed the flash program and re-opened it and now that wont even see RR anymore...is this thing totally trashed now, cause that would be lame.

i won`t bother to quote myself,
but do you have a copy of the "old" firmware?
if so you can re-install it.

i don`t know if the 516k and the 1MB have the same firmware.
there could be some confusion there.
make sure you firewall/anti-virus is not causing a bad download or
install of the firmware.

dont have the old firmware but the firmware installer wont even see my RR anymore. I would think if the 516k and 1mb had different firmware there would be 2 different downloads on the moates sight.

i don't want to make it sound to bad, but I suffered a bad firmware upgrade on my RR and had to send it back to craig at moates. I have used that firmware that i uploaded though with no problems.

honestly sending it back would suck but would not bother me that much at all....we will see i sent him an email and see what i get back tomorrow!

has there been an update to the firmware software? I get the same checksum error and I dont want to trash my RR unit, but I want to upgrade to 12.14.

It`s best to email Moates.
Re-download the firmware and see if it still gives the error.
I would`nt flash if it does.
