ok, I have the switch wired up on pins #1 and #37 in the black connector. I have all 5 limp home tables set to 0mm3 from 1k rpm and up. I also have B0740 min. inj. qty set to 0mm3 from 1k rpm and up. Neither position of the switch will limit fuel.............what gives??

I do NOT want it as a dsp table I want to use a different switch that I can hide. I do not want this for "valet" I want it for added anti-theft.

The first time I tried it, I did not have the switch grounded in #37, I only had it to body ground and B0733 was the only one that would limit fuel and only if B0740 was lowered as well, BUT the switch did nothing, it was stuck in that limiting fuel mode. Now??? I don't get it. Am I missing something?

Did you do a full reflash?

Being its already here, and it didn't have an answer, I figured I would revive an old thread to say that Im having the same issue with the Valet mode. High Idle works flawlessly, DSP works Flawlessly but when the Valet Mode is enabled in the tune{A0140}, it instantly reverts to Engine Protection Mode 1 {B0733} regardless. If you disable {A0140} (only change made to the tune) the truck runs fine, no engine protection mode. Here are the Segments and OS im using currently

5875805 Operating System
15904640 Engine Operation
25779295 Engine
15879109 Engine Diagnostics
15879098 Fuel System
15228743 System
15233750 Speedometer

Any input Ross?

I don't expect a fix, just looking for input if this is a known issue or not and if not, just bringing it to your attention. Are there any work arounds?

I am able to replicate the issue on this truck using 2 different ECMs.

I'm gonna try a few other OS's to see if i can replicate the issue on those as well as different Segment combos.

And i did verify that the pins are properly seated in the connector and making good contact.

To add I have also rebuilt the DSP tune several times to ensure that it wasnt just a build error when it converted the base tune to a DSP5

Neither the DSP-5 valet mode or DSP launch control on the 04-05 LLY actually works.

Kinda frustrating, but I guess not enough people tested it back when LLY was fresh on the R&D table to point out to Ross that it is in fact broken on the LLY's.

It works perfectly on LB7, but I was never able to get it to work on LLY, so I gave up on it years ago.

I knew the launch control never worked. But never tried the Valet till today. Well... That sucks I guess. Hopefully the E60 doesn't get retired before its fixed

All news to me guys, but sadly it is unlikely it'll be fixed, too many miles travelled to turn back.

aww.....it would be like a stroll down memory lane.

Walk in the park, a mini vacation from trans Tuning.

For the handful of people that have used the feature in the 9 years and 4 months since the documentation was first available in January 2007 the best all round solution may be to remove DSP2 from future software releases for LLY.

Cheers
Cindy

Wait.... why remove DSP2? The only problem was with the Valet mode and DSP Staging thats included in the DSP5 COS

It would take me a full day to remember how to program 68000 assembly again :Eyecrazy:

Ross please dont remove DSP-2 or change anything on the LLY! I actually still use DSP-2 on my LLY, never bothered to go to DSP-5 since I liked having the speed-limiter on one tune function....and I dont "need" 5 tunes.

Its not a big deal having the valet mode disfunctional IMO...everything is plenty good enough just the way it is.
