I loaded my first tune in the 08 today. Not having a 180* thermostat yet, I decided to adjust the fans for 100% starting at 192*F. When I started the car the fans were at full tilt and the engine was stone cold!

I reflashed the PCM with the stock settings and all is well. Has anyone ever seen this before?

What are your fan % vs temp values? Stock and revised?

My advice, nothing wrong with the stock Vette thermostat. The engine is designed and clearanced to run at the temp the thermostat controls at, and the fans work toward.

Cheers and Merry Xmas.

I set the tables back to stock for now. I'm wanting to keep the temps below 200* F. The LS7 gets crazy hot around town running 214-220, which IMO is a little too much.

And to answer my own question, putting 100% fan operation in the 192 block will command the fans on all the time. I had to search around the Internet to find the answer.

Yes 214-220 (101-104C) is on the hot side but consistent with regular GM settings, but is this while cruising consistently at say 30mph and above, or idling in traffic?

Or is it more like 195 while cruising?

Cruising runs around 204, even during the cooler months. GM likes em hot!
