i guess my question is if there is an extension cord (so to speak ) so you can use a desktop from my house. Ok maybe I'm a little cheap but i hate to buy another computer just to tune my truck.:bs:

A good USB extender will have like a USB amplifier in it (not the right term!). Just make sure you don't buy a 25ft USB cable and expect it to work, it must have some form of smarts in it to allow the USB signals to make it that far.
Cheers,
Ross

For the benefit of others following the thread I'll respond to your PM in here.

I think that should work, however, we've never tested it to say 100% yes. But it looks like it should be fine. For $29 you probably can't go wrong.
Cheers,
Ross

The laptop question is the only reason I waited sooo long to make the change. I'm sure there are others. They might make a sticky out of this info after we find out for sure it works.

Is there any length requirement on the RJ45/CAT5 cable from the V2 to the PCM?

i think they have released an update that will allow you to load yout tune on a sd card and then insert that to the v2. and then take the v2 out to your truck and do the flash

I think they started testing the standalone flashing internally, but has not been released as a update yet.
