Anyone catch the show Eleventh Hour on CBS tonight? The episode was called H2O.

During the scenes where Hood was testing the water. It flashed to the computer monitor which appeared to be running EFILive as water testing software.

I didn't think to catch a screen cap until now and didn't DVR it. :doh2:

Anyone else see it?

My wife records that show, so I've checked it out. Pops up at about 27 minutes in.

Totally EFILive dashboard chart display. They didn't even change the names of the PIDs as you can read RPM,TP%,kPA,g/Cyl,Spark*,KR,InjDC,Aspark,HO2S11,HO2S21 and a bunch of hard to read ones down the right side.

I swear during an episode last night where they were testing PVC pipe for PCP that they showed a screenshot of EFI Live's trends on the ScanTool screen.

It was too quick to be sure, maybe 1-2 seconds, but unless my mind played tricks, it showed 'Spark Advance' off to the left.

It was supposed to be like a GCMS result but hey, I thought that was something else.

Just a bit of trivia, maybe I'm wrong, but if not, that's pretty cool.

So someone at CBS has EFILive, that is pretty funny.

I work in the industry and I'll try to dig a bit deeper if possible.

At school the guy who sits next to me works at Fox Studios, the guy in front of me Warner Bros Studios, the guy to my other side Universal Studios and myself currently employed at Disney Studios (contract employee). I'll find out who employs workers at CBS and try to see if I can find anyone connected to that show.

Okay, this is really geeky stuff, but myself and Paul have a laugh how in most TV shows / movies when they are using a PC to scan through fingerprint databases or using facial recognition etc that the computer shows 'every' image of the fingerprint it is comparing to, it also plays a stupid sound when every picture pops up. Do they realise how much more processing time it would take to display every image and play a sound rather than just process it in the background?

Next one, when they 'enhance' video images from security camera's with a resolution of say 320 and poor lighting, they run it through the 'magic' computer and it all of a sudden you can read some persons clothing tag from 100ft away. It is simply impossible and stupid, if they could enhance images like that then TV stations are stupid in buying a $40K 1080 HD camera, just spend $50 on a web cam and magically enhance it to 1080.

Cheers,
Ross

I never saw this thread back in Jan. But we just got that episode of Eleventh hour here in NZ, it aired last night. Pretty surprising when I saw EFILive being used to "analyze water". Especially when it still shows RPM, Spark and MAP.

Never knew EFILive appeared on Knight Rider - cool!

Oh yeah, about those magical computers that they have on CSI. I'm not allowed to poke fun at the amazing computer technology because its Donna's favorite show and evidently me going on about how impossible it is, just ruins the entire plot.
