Just got my spalsh screen loaded thanks to Cindy over from Dieselplace.com fourms. Had to format the config file. Also copied all *.ppm files in config while there. So I then started reading about loading the a,b,c,d dtcs files under the scan folder. I select them and copy and paste. Well again I get error 0005 and select properties gets me error 0026 and refresh error 0182. Same 0005 error when trying to install a splash screen but formatting the config file fixed that.

So issue now is getting the dtc files over to scan folder. I did reformat the config file and treid again but same errors and then reloaded the other ppm files and new splash screen back for now.

edit:
Since loading the ppm files i can now load pids for logging. Have to try logging tomorrow. Was told it can be done but but could not file options.txt file. Now that it is there I am set for standalone logging. Just need to get the dtc files over to the scanfolder now.
edit:

bootblock 2.06.02
firmware 2.06.06

Thanks for your time and help.
Brian

Brian,

Don't do copy/paste... instead do drag/drop from upper pane (folder) to lower pane (Config tab).

Ok I copied a,b,c,d dtc file to the config tab. So next code I get will give it a try to see if it tells me what it is. Had to remove some of the ppm files to get the dtc files copied. Must be a space limit on the EFILive V2 for items like this. Figure there would be enough room for all that and more. I did look at the scan tab after loading the dtc files but see nothing and still get errors when hitting refresh and properties like mentioned above . Is this normal. Have another post like so on

Thanks for the help JoeCar.

You only need the .pmm files for the ECM/TCM that you want to log from.

Yes, there is a space limit.

Also, did you do a Format on the Config tab prior to copying the .pmm and Options.txt files...?

At some point, did you do a Format on the SD card and/or the internal flash log space...?

Oh... drag the .dtc files to the Scan tab.

Post some screenshots when this happens.

Ok I copied a,b,c,d dtc file to the config tab.

As Joe said, the dtc files should be dragged into the [Scan] tab page, not the [Config] tab page.
The [Config] tab page has limited space and is only for Options.txt and the *.pmm files.

To check the space used/available in the [Config] tab page click on the [Properties] button in the [Config] tab page.

To check the space used/available in the [Scan] tab page click on the [Properties] button in the [Scan] tab page. (it can take a while if you have a large SD card in use).

We are working on the V8 software which has a user friendly front end program that handles all this file copying and Config/Scan file systems for you. Sorry that you have to "know" this stuff right now, but the software is not quite ready yet.

Paul

Ok I got it all done now. turns out the sdcard I was using is bad. Would not format on the V2. Popped in another one I had and formatted and then copied the dtc files to the scan tab. Now they show up in the scan tab. Then went and reformatted the flash memory, load all pmm files to config and install my custom splash screen.

I guess the last thing to do is load tunes and install tunes from the v2 sdcard as standalone once you guys get all the bugs worked out.

Thanks to everyone that help.

Brian, you should be able to do BBL logging.

I also get the same error when clicking properties and refresh.
I never copied the DTC files before.

after looking here Error codes and descriptions (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=6732)
i formatted the SD card with EFILive Explorer and moved the files.
i guess an SD card is necessary for this. :hihi:

If you select "Internal" for the file system, then FlashScan will ignore the SD card (present or not) and just use its own internal flash memory for storing scan and tune files (and the dtc files).

If you select "SD Card" for the file system, then FlashScan will ignore the Internal flash memory and require an SD card be present for storing scan and tune files (and the dtc files).

The limitation here is that you must select one or the other (internal or SD Card), you can't use them both at the same time.

I was getting some errors like yours. Once I was able to format the sd card from the V2 everything was great. I had an old 32 meg sdcard which would not format on the V2. Popped in a newer 512meg card from my camera, formatted from the V2, and copying files to scan tab worked great.
