PIDs, channels for E38

how many PIDs , channels can you have selected for the E38 before your logging speed slows down?

surely someone must know, I remember reading on this forum that we could log 40 pids if your computer was fast enough, is this true.

Up to 42 channels for CAN based controllers.

When using the PC based V7.5 Scan Tool software:


24 Channels for VPW controllers (LS1, LB7, LLY, etc)
24 Channels for CAN controllers (LS2, LBZ, LMM etc)

The PC based scanning will be increased to 42 channels for CAN based controllers with the V8 scan tool software release.

When using FlashScan V2 standalone black box logging:


24 Channels for VPW controllers (LS1, LB7, LLY, etc)
42 Channels* for CAN controllers (LS2, LBZ, LMM etc)

* When scanning 25 to 42 channels on CAN controllers there will be a drop in frames per second, but not as large as the drop that occurs in VPW controllers when passing the 24 channel limit.
The largest drop in frames per second for CAN based controllers occurs when passing the 42 channel limit.
