Can this be done?

I thought I remembered reading where someone had replaced some older ecms with newer ones that could be tuned with efi live. I think they may have even made a chart?
I don't have all the specifics because this was just mentioned in passing, but a guy asked me if efi would work with a 94 yukon. I told him no, but you may be able to swap the ecm with one that can be tuned. I don't know what motor he has or any other specifics, but my question is is it possible to swap that pcm with a newer one with little trouble?

No PCM that I know of that EFI_Live supports would be an easy swap. The ignition inputs are too different. Tell him to upgrade the drivetrain to one of the newer models or go burn a chip.

Tell your friend to look into Tuner CATS OBD1 stuff. Very inexpensive and will do what he wants. It is slow, clunky, time consuming, and not fun like our OBD2 stuff, at least in my humble opinion.
