v2 with new v8 download wont scan

I just tried to scan my car after downloading the new v8 software( I haven't used my efilive in a while). I updated the firmware and everything that showed that needed to be updated on the control panel. Plug in car and it finds the computer but the record button isn't lite up to be able to select it. also graphs wont show(says not available at the time or something). What do I need to do to set this thing up!!! lol.. I do have a list of PID's in the box.. so im at a lost:(.

Please somebody help I need to log this car today!!!
