newbie question: how would i switch from a 09360361 to a 12212156 without having to do the tune all over again?
Hi rumblebox (nice guitar) welcome to the forum
Open two instances of the tunetool (one on each file), and do copy-with-labels from one file and past-with-labels in the other file... there may be a table that needs to be transposed, use the tunetool's Conversions tab for this.
Go carefully, take your time, it takes about 2 hours or so...
when done copying, save the file, restart the tunetool and flash into the PCM.
Which year/model/vehicle/mods...?
sweet! thanks for the info.
it's a 99 formula with an LQ4, ported f.a.s.t. 90/90, COMP LSR 239/247 cam, QTP headers with 3" x pipe kit all the way out the back with dynomax bulles in front of the axle and borla xr-1s in the back, it just installed a strange dana 60 with 3.54 gears. right now it has a 4500 TCI converter in a stock(not original) 4L60. i have all the parts to do an 80 swap this weekend.
Let us know how your 4L80E swap goes, take pics if you're not too rushed/busy :)
Remember me:) Upgrading my slipping 60e to an 80e now and I'm not positive on how to convert my tune file. I have cos5 installed in the truck, how do I do a segment swap to a cos?
I think you to seg swap in a non-COS OS (ie go all the way back to your GM OS), do the seg swap, upgrade that to a COS, then copy all of your changes in the current tune into the seg-swapped COS. I think, Im not sure how EFILive performs the seg swap stuff but the destination OS and source OS must match. Maybe try doing a seg swap in your stock GM OS, then upgrade that to a COS, then perform a seg swap your current COS tune and fresh GM OS w/seg swap.
Hope that makes sense...
If you have COS5 installed then the root OS has to be 12212156. Just use the compare feature with a 2002 Chevy HD Silverado from Tunefiledepot while having your current COS5 tune open. When selected you will get the edit feature open and will have the ability to "copy entire tranny&tranny diag" segments.
I hope it's this easy, going "all the way back" to my original os tune swapping segments and then coming all the way forward to the custom os sounds like about 10 hrs worth of work. This looks like it shouldn't take half an hour to figure out:) Will let you know how easy it was or if i run into any snags.
Wow, that was easy, next week I can see that it worked...I will put up a step by step but basically it was as doc said, having never even compared two tunes before I was a little worried.
