Any errors or symptoms that you can pass on?
I've never done it, byt from what I recall reading there are some pretty strick requirements to perform the procedure.
Also, are you running the latest available build of the software? I recall an update from this a while back as well if I recall correctly.

I'm using version 7.3.3 with flashscan version 2. Followed directions according to the manual. The injectors don't cut out like the manual states. Tried multiple times. There is no errors when doing the relearn.

I did it last summer with V1 and it worked. You have to rev it pretty high as I remember.
I think the deceleration they are referring to is hitting the rev limiter.
I tried pretty much everything, hitting the rev limiter. How long do I have to let the engine idle after revving the engine before shutting off?

You shouldn't even touch the rev limiter when doing the relearn. With the tech II, the injectors are cut around 4000rpm instantly. With brake applied. FYI. I have never used EFI(tech2 only) to do the relearn, I just assume it cuts the injectors at the same point...

It's a A4, transplanted into a 91 Chevy S-10. Looking at the state pids, it doesn't really say what is what.
I looked at the STATE PIDs vs. the PCM "TCC Brake Switch Signal" which is PIN 33 (purple wire) on the C1 connector of a 2001 F-body. In the STATE PIDs, it only shows PCM Pin-J2, 33 under the "Output Driver #1 Status", I assume C1=J1 and C2=J2 on the connectors? Anyway, if the wire that goes to that PIN (C1-33 PPL) is readily available, try to hook it to a known source B+ voltage when instructed to apply brake during the CKP learn. This may help if you can't find the status of the brake signal in the EFI scan tool. I also assumed you had a f-body computer for some reason.:D
Look in the following state pids (on the PIDs tab, do right click and More Info on each one to see what states they contain):

These can't be directly plotted on a chart, but they can be displayed on a dash gauge, or they can be viewed on the Data tab.
Like 70LS_Nova said, you may have to fake it, but you may need wire diagrams/pinouts for the donor year/model...
If you need the pinouts, just let me know the make, model. and I will e-mail them to you, it will be from the gm service manual.

I checked the state of the brake switch and pcm is seeing the change, does the pcm need to know if its in park or drive? Looking at the value for gear selector mines is stuck on D4. I have a trans range connector and was told not to use it. The plug doesn't seem to match with anything. Do you guys think that could be a problem?
I think that is the problem.

Need a wire diagram to see which pins/wires correspond to pins N, R, P on the TFP switch assembly.
This switch is internally in the A4 trans right? The wires are connected with the 15 or so pin round connector on the right side of the transmission?
That's correct, it's inside the bottom pan, just above the fluid filter, and the wires goto the thru-case connector (yep, on RHS of case, a little to the rear of the 2/4 servo).Quote:

The 4L80E is slightly different (and it's Tech Guide has a few typos on that page).
I got the 4L60E, I got the wiring harness from Street and Performance and they have a 4 pin connector thats called the trans range switch and they told me not to connect it to anything. It's connector 30 at http://www.hotrodlane.cc/PDFFILES/ls...icharness2.pdf

The PID for reading the manual range switch is GM.PRND or GM.PRND321 or something like that;
(it is not GM.GEAR which tells the current gear).
The actual pid is GM.TFPSW, it follows correctly when I shift the shifter.
GM.PRND is always stuck on D4. I compared them with my 2000 Silverado and the Silverado changes accordingly to what gear your on. Do you think the 4pin transmission range connector be connected to something like a shifter gear selector? I also tried opening the CKP screen, then shutting off the ignition, then restarting the engine, clicked on the CKP learn button and got this error (Bidirectional control rejected by the controller: Transmission in gear. ($1101).
That connector is for the rear plugin portion of the PARK/NEUTRAL switch. I had the same issues with a PCM swap. On mine I had to ground C1 pin 32 and 34 DURING the crank relearn procedure, so that the PCM thinks it is in PARK. If your trans has this PARK/NEUTRAL switch plug the connector to it and try the relearn. Mine was for a 01-02 Express Van PCM #12200411-LS1 type PCM into a 98 GMC
Finally got it work, CKP Relearn is looking at pid GM.PRND. C1 pin 32 and 34 has to be grounded. Pid GM.TFPSW is looking at the internal pressure switches in the trans. After all that it was actually easy once you get the right stuff in-line.

C1:32,34 correspond to which pins on the TFP switch (N, R, P)...?
C1:32,34 does not go to the TFP switch. It goes to the part/neutral position switch, left side of transmission where the shifter connects to. It has a black plastic housing around the shaft.
C1 pin 32+34 are not from the TFP switch. TFP switch tells the PCM which gear the trans is in hydrauliclly ( I think I just made up a new word ). C1 32+34 are PCM inputs from the PARK/NEUTRAL switch, to tell the PCM where the gear selector lever is at. Glad you got it working!
