Column lock question
So I have the 2004 Z06 in my sig, finally did a long awaited and comprehensive driveline repair/overhaul, got some new tires, and the car is healthy again. I did the LMC5 column lock bypass with brown wire mod, but still get the occasional pull key wait 10 seconds message. Tonight I turned off anti-theft and noticed a column lock option in EFILive. The bypass mod I performed, based on my understanding, prevents the lock from ever locking again. What happens if I declare that the car never had the column lock option? There's not any real verbiage in the tune tool itself for that. I want to be completely through with the pull key and wait message once and for all.

Flash it in there and lets find out!

I mean that's one way. First I think I should drive it with just anti-theft deleted and see if it comes back at all. I wonder if saying no to the column lock would have saved me from the LMC5 delete as you flash with the key on and column unlocked?

Had a derr moment. Last night I searched column lock and got absolutely nothing. This morning, only part way into my coffee, I decided to search G0801.

Looks like that is my huckleberry after all. Anti-theft is not what my problem is, it's the column itself causing the pull key message. So I think I'll turn security back on, column lock off, and see how it goes.

Got the pull key message with G0801 off, so flipping G1201 off as well so there's no ani-theft. I don't foresee this changing anything, but we'll see.

It's been a week and so far, so good. Been driving it most every day. If it still pulls its crap I'll post up.
