wideband gauge
I am wanting to tune my 01 Suburban 5.3L and I hate tuning without a wideband. But I don't want any gauges in the cab. Could I just get the wideband and controller without the gauge and just hook up the outputs to my V1 controller?
On a side note, Im getting a lot of KR on light throttle increases when cruising. as much as 5*. I keep lowering the timing in the affected cells but its still getting knock. Any Ideas? I zeroed out the burst knock tables as well.

Andy, what's up?
You can definitely do without a gauge. Now, some wideband units are integrated with the display. For example, my NGK AFX has a box which displays the AFR but is also required to be plugged in. But it's basically hidden down in the center console.
Your other option is to wire the wideband output to the EGR wire harness and log AFR through the PCM. This is actually how I log my fuel pressure.

As far as the knock goes, it sounds like false knock. The truck knock software tables are excessively sensitive from the factory, especially the 6.0 tunes. The first thing I would do is copy the knock sensor settings from a c5 z06.

Hey, Doing good. Sold my C3 to my father-in-law down in VA. He loves it.
Was looking at the AEM UEGO or the LC-2. would be nice to be able to use it as a narrowband sim as well but from researching it it doesn't look probable. Im putting in a new catted y pipe next month. I'll just have the shop weld in another o2 bung a few inches behind the stock nao2 bung. As for the knock tables, I copied most of the tables from my c3 tune over to the 5.3 tune. its running better but still has some work.

who know it would be so hard to find the 3 way terminal for the wideband to plug into. efi live website has it but it was 40 shipped, found another site that was 23 shipped. eventually found one on carid for 13 shipped. now have to get the wideband.

You don't need a gauge to tune, you just feed the wideband output into FSV1.
As said, some wideband controllers have an integrated gauge, like the new AEM.

I think I mas stick with Innovative. My computer already has the files for it.

Got to looking at the new ypipe and there is no way to add a bung in front of the cat. So my options are to use the analog out to simulate the O2 or to delete the o2's all together. Innovate shows the stock analog 2 out is 1.1V=14 afraid and .1v=15 afr. But I can change it with their logworks software.
