Can a V1 cable log a ls2?

This weekend at the track I was trying to log my friends 05 GTO and a 07 TBSS and I could not connect. Is the V1 cable not compatible with the new LS2s?

No the LS2 has a CAN bus which is the reason for the new V2 interface
