1998 LS1 MAP tuning
Hey guys new here do not know if i am in the right spot haha. anyways i got a 1998 Camaro Z28 that i did a sheet metal intake and a 92mm TB and i had to change from the factory 1 bar map to a 3bar map (GM #12592525) i wired a new connector. never messed with VE tables and or map swaps just need help!!! Also with stock tune it bogs really bad on take off but afterwards revs great.

Did you change the map sensor because you are planning on using boost? If so it would be best to convert to the later model PCM.

I plan to run 200 shot nitrous in it. No boost but the sheet metal intake I got only allowed a LSA map bolt up. Is the 1998 PCM not workable for this? Also what pcm do I upgrade to if I have to go that route?

I'm not sure of the design of the intake manifold, but I would strongly recommend against running a 3-bar sensor on a normally aspirated engine. You will lose 2/3 of the VE table resolution. You would not need to bolt in the MAP sensor if you are not running boost.
The later model PCM's would include the 1999-2002 512 meg PCM. 16238212, 9354896, 12200411 are all 512 meg PCM's. https://www.lsenginediy.com/comparin...i-controllers/ has some good descriptions of various GM PCM/ECM's. If you are interested in updating your vehicle to the 1999 up PCM you can email me or PM me.

ok so just install the cover and run maf and cancel out the map? this the intake BTWhttps://www.topstreetperformance.com...fold-3069.html

Keep the MAF if you can and put the stock MAP sensor with a good grommet in the hole where the MAP sensor goes. That will get you in a better place to start tuning. There are tutorials here on the forum for AutoVE to get you going.
