Anyone willing to share an E39 2011 Regal Turbo LHU engine cal file?
Can't wait to compare to E69 LNF file.
Thanks
It will be totally different. The calibration strategies Bosch use vs GM's own in house code (which is what the E39 runs) is totally different.
We are close to releasing another calibration update for the E39 that will have some important tables needed for overcoming the very strict torque limiting the E39 has.
I know the strategies are different, but the E39 looks like it offeres more options (i.e. Flex fuel and better boost control) than the stupid Bosch E69 ECM. I am investigating converting to the E39 for various LNF/LHU custom/retrofit vehicles instead of the E69.
I was looking for the E39 Turbo cal because I have not have a chance to TIS flash my service E39 yet.
Anyone have a copy of this file they'd be willing to share? I'd like to ditch my e69 pcm if possible...
Ditch it to what? You can't swap an E39 ECM in place of the E69.
This is a retrofit using the lnf engine so we'd just swap wiring harnesses, sensors, ecm etc. Just gauging if its even possible since I already have efilive and would like to stay away from the bosch stuff
You need to do some research on the difference between the injectors and the high pressure pump between the two engines (as I suggested in Post #4). Maybe a Motec would be a better option.
The high pressure pump is the same p/n between the two. Injectors are a different p/n but use the same wiring harness and externally look identical.
It looks like they have different part numbers for the 2007-2009 vs 2010 up injectors and high pressure pump... Is this something that you know are incompatibile or just making a helpful suggestion? I don't know much about differences in the direct injection type injectors that are used in these applications. Any ideas on how to find out who they're manufactured by?
GM Parts Catalog. 2009 Chevy Cobalt ss 12629135. 2012 regal 2.0(LHU) same 12629135.
hmmm, the catalog I looked in had a part number 12625764 for '08 cobalt ss :doh2:
maybe the new number superceeds this one?
Yeah, that part number was superceded by the new one in Dec, 2010.
that's good news...
What about the throttle, pedal, they will need to match as well.
and need to make sure the crank/cam reluctors are the same... probably other things too which is why I wanted to take a look at the .bin file to see if it has enough potential for tuning over the bosch stuff. depending on how many drivetrain parts interchange maybe not :(
anyone have a file I can check out? didn't see one in the tune repository
I know this is a faily old thread, I've only recently been reading in the section after i bought a regal gs, if you're still looking for a 2.0 turbo tune i'd be willing to send you one
Yes, I would still like a copy of LHU cal. Thanks
Just clean the VIN (put 0s in the last 8 digits so the personal info isnt there) and upload it here, Id like to see it as well. Plus no more emailing it all over the place. :D
haven't received it yet...what a tease :)
So you guys don't do what I do? Go to a dealer for a test drive and then say "I am only buying this car if my personal laptop can communicate with it" "that way I can upload songs and customize the dash"... I know I am a bit unorthodox. :lookaround: then when you are done, say "nope, not yet but let me update my stuff and check you in a couple weeks". I am an artist... :nuke:
genius :)
you don't happen to feel like taking a turbo regal with manual transmission for a test drive anytime soon?
I may :) Though it's not on my schedule any time soon :(
But I will keep you in mind when I go "check" the Verano T again!!!
Here's a 2012 Regal LHU cal. It's from the non-GS (flex fuel) trim.
Attachment 14384
That's a manual cal.
Thank you slammed39!
I just picked up a 2013 regal gs. I'm more versed in ford tuning, but I can do what I can to help if I can get help along the way too. Would love to get this thing on the dyno and start playing.
Congrats on the sweet car!!! Let us know how it goes :D
Have you played with any yet?
I have looked at the their tunes and it all looks very familiar. I would definitely love to have one. As a matter of fact, they have the same exact engine as a Verano T. Send me file if you wish, I would love to see what's new in there. Have you tried to read it, is there support? If not you need to send it to EFILive asap! :)
tune@torquesouth.com
Haven't read it yet but will soon. I'll send it to you when I do. Could probably use some help on it.
Sounds good, I'll give you whatever info I can once I look at it.
Any idea how much power these motors can handle?
About 375 stock, the turbo runs out of breath before the motor.
Boost,
I tried reading it today with the latest version of V8 and I got an error message. Im going off of memory for the message but I believe it was 003$ or 033$
My first time using V8 so not sure what that means.
