Hello everyone. I am looking for some help on installing custom2-3 bar ve table.
Thank you
Read this document: Custom OS Upgrade LS1B Tutorial.pdf
where do i find Tun file 03150003
You find the empty COS tune file here: C:\Users\<you>\Documents\EFILive\V7.5\Bins\Custom OS
oh I c thank you !!
Well I Have updated to the custom OS following the EFI Tutorial manual. Truck wont start, seams like it wants to but no Go. Smells rich when cranking. EFI tutorial said it is a good base map. Is that true. Any advice?
Thank you
Did you fix up table B3647...?
Did your engine start and run on the GM tune...?
Post your tune file.
Hello Joe. Sorry I had to disappear for a few. My truck is all complete and had it running on a bad tune of course. As per your directions I was able to upload custom map and follow efi live instructions. Now the truck wont start. Tuning is all that's left so I am back on this project. will post pics as well as the tune file if you are still interested to take a look.
Thanx again
Look at table B3647, does it contain the data from the old B3605...?
Post your old tune (before COS upgrade) and your current tune (after COS upgrade).
thank you talk soon
Hello again. Here are my tune files. Attachment 21213Attachment 21214
b3605 not found !
B3647 in the COS replaces B3605 in the GM OS.
I'll take a closer look later tonite.

First do this: fix these Out-of-Range parameters:
- A0001
- A0002
- A0012
- A0013
howto (there's a trick to it): set each of them to max-1, save tune file, exit tunetool, reopen tunetool, set each of those to max.
( note: this step is important )
Second do this:
your B3647 show EQR 14.63...!!!
to fix this:
- go Edit->Properties->Display and set fueling units to EQ Ratio;
- exit tunetool, reopen tunetool;
- set table B3647 to: below 80 kPa = EQR 1.00, above 80 kPa EQR 1.175;
- set table B3649 same sa B3647;
- save tune file.
Note:
EQR is simply 1/Lambda
AFR is calculated as StoichAFR * Lambda or StoichAFR/EQR
Also: Edit->Properties->Display and set VE units to g*K/kPa.
Also set your PE Enable B3616 to 60% below 3200 rpm, 35% above 3200 rpm.
Are you running boost...? If yes then set B3613 to 105kPa, and use PE B3618 to control fueling during boost.
You should disable LTFT Correction B3801.
Set C6001 P0101,2,3 to A:1 Trip.
If you're correcting VE table, note that MAF is enabled, and vice-versa.
you are awesome ! I am going to work on these things mentioned. The truck runs great, somehow I got it tricked to work with 10 psi on one of my BAD previous tunes.. 14:1 AFR so not running it but she is smooth. running garret tp38 turbo large intercooler 48lb/hr injesctors exhaust intake valves etc I am really happy just need to get the mapping right now. I am new at tuning but quick learner. really appreciate your help!! Joecar is THA Man
Attachment 21223 this is from today still no start, other not much changed tunes start the truck no problem. can you see more craziness in here
Just going trough COS & using the 2/3 bar features manual and see there is a lot to be done which I am working on today. In regards to EQR Number 14.63 in properties is still present even after re-opening. will try again. Thank you talk soon with another tun file
Yup thank you starts good now on custom OS. Have spent some time on the program...disabled MAF and emissions, working on proper mapping etc. This is fun will chat soon.
Ok, so your B3647 now shows EQR 1.00 below 80 kPa and EQR 1.175 above 80 kPa...?
Post your current tune file.

Attachment 21229yes definitely one I corrected the B3647 the truck started. I got confused because the map was filled in AFR even tho measurement was in EQR, therefore it was rich. The truck starts on custom map now. idles rich 10:1 and the map is off at this point second map is lean at the beginning. working on it now but here it is. Appreciate the help!!
any pointers on crucial data for idling
First get VE and/or MAF corected.

Thanx again Joe! I have been working on the maps and other factors, truck runs and starts good. Still not perfect by any means but it seams to take 5 psi just fine at this point. One of the issues is that on test runs I am recording 3 to 4 points of retard timing. I have changed the ECM advance to max at 0. Any other pointers on dialing in the ignition timing.
Good day!
Post current tune file and a log from it.
k, thank you
If you're seeing KR then:
- make sure MAF and/or VE is correct at that operating point (not under-reporting).
- make sure you're commanding sufficient fuel (if low load, OL look at B3605 or B3647; if high load, make sure PE enables and commands sufficiently rich).
- make sure you're not commanding too much timing at high load.
- make sure oil is not being ingested via PCV system.
- make sure your fuel is octane 91 or higher.
- make sure your intake air is not getting heated.
- make sure coolant is not overheating.
What spark plugs are you running...?
If you're running boost, you have to make sure VE is good, and that you add fuel and remove timing (COS has tables for this).
Thank you again. I am realizing a lot of things and it shows on the truck, my map is still rich at the end 12 afr and bit rich on the bottom 13.7 when idling, once the a/c kicks in goes to 14.7afr. Appreciate your time! will clean up few things and record. I was upgrading few other things on the truck (: roof rack,LED lights( 2003 Tahoe, garret TP38 turbo, large after cooler 4 inch, TR6, 48 lb fuel injector, the green backs, 5.3 l ls is running great. i am sure the knock is still from incorrect afr map after 3 psi. Goes rich to 12 Will work on it this week and get back
Removed timing so it does not advance past 0
Vented crank case to atmosphere and vacuum from exhaust
Assuming your wideband indicates the same as commanded fueling (i.e. VE and MAF are reasonably correct)...
when running NA at WOT, you want:
- commanded AFR to be about 12.6,
- commanded spark to be no more than 24* (i.e. total timing).
when running boost at WOT, you want:
- commanded AFR to be about 11.5,
- commanded spark to be no more than 14* (i.e. total timing).
As you work on it, post log/tune files.
Are you hitting MAF internal limit (512 g/s)...?
