2008 C&C 6.7 cummins - will a 2009 Pickup ECM work?

Can a 2009 pickup ecm work in a 2008 Cab and Chassis? This truck does not come factory equipped with chip key and no keyfobs. Original ECM on Cab and Chassis went dead. No communication. I have the tuned file from the original ECM. Can I simply buy a vin license and flash the same tuned file to the ecm? The tuned file OS is 55610805. The read file OS from the old ecm is 11720809. The replacement ecm OS is 11710806. Old ECM read file says 68RFE trans. The replacement ECM read file says Aisin. If the ecm is dead or if a wrong ecm is installed, will that cause a no crank condition?
