I'm looking forward to spending up big whilst at PRI this year, the last time the dollar was this high I was in primary school and couldn't care less, just 10 years ago one Aussie dollar was worth about 50 cents US.
Cheers,
Ross

Meanwhile EFILive is slowly going broke, c'mon USA get that dollar back up where it belongs...
Regards
Paul
But not until Ross has been to the US in December and bought his Duramax and Cummins trucks at a killer price :)

Now it's time to cash in for that stream license lol.:hihi:
Actually I might wait a bit longer.
Yeah, I am at 80 yen to the dollar. Two years ago i sent money home at 123 yen to the dollar. I can't wait for Christmas. Spending spree. The US is the new Mexico. Thanks Obaka
Actually for the Aussie customers that were complaining about purchasing VIN licenses perhaps we should change to transacting in AU$ now LOL.
ive been in the us for the last 3 weeks and def been taking advantage of the exchange rate spending up big in new york and vegas lol
Its funny, was just reading an article from US talking about a man being fined in QLD :
"he was fined $40,000 Aus ($40,000 US)"
We (the US) took a significant step forward yesterday in the long hard road of turning around from the headlong charge into the socialist workers party paradise that we had been going down since 2006. Note to GM, make cars that people WANT to buy, don't depend on government subsidies.
switch it over to NZ dollars ( $575NZ = 446.765 AUD http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html ) that would keeps us happy. LOL
Looks like it's coming around full cycle... in the mid-late 70's (highschool for me) I remember the rate being 1.00AUD = 1.20USD.
Joe, the financial types do say this might happen again. I can see USPost hiring a 747 each day to send cheap stuff purchased in the US to Australia.
The vehicle import laws in Victoria recently changed to make it a lot harder to import modified cars, pretty much ruling out any hope of me picking up a 67/68 Camaro with a nice 572 in it whilst at PRI. :bawl: Might have to be on the look out for an original 60's Cadillac instead so I can bring it over and shove a Duramax in once it's here.
I don't know the exact details on the new law, but 'any' year car is subject to it. Something along the lines of if the car was modified from factory spec in the last 20 years then you have to prove the modifications are legal BEFORE it can enter the country. Essentially this is their way of stopping 95% of the classic car market brining cars in. It was one of those legislations that got passed without a word of it coming, needless to say all motoring groups are working hard to reverse it.
These rules are made by people who obviously have no idea about the hot rodding world, they would be happier to let in a stock 67 Camaro with a clapped out 350 and drum brakes, than a 67 Camaro with an LS1 and modern 4 wheel discs. The other insanity of it all is the car still has to meet local registration laws before it can be driven here anyway.
It's probably comes more from trying to stop the flood of highly modified Japanese imports we get, if that is the case then they should have made a cut off year exemption.
It's sad to admit but if you are in to high performance cars then Victoria is not the place you want to live.
