LML Stock Files

I am doing a harness and engine swap for a customer, we will be using a LGH - 6L90 from a 2011 van. Can i use any OS that matches the ECM or does it need to be from a van? van os as per TIS is 12646249, I have a few truck OS's that are the same. I assume that the engine would be at truck power levels.

Or do i need to buy a file for the vin?
