Tried connecting with V2 on my friends 2000 Chevy S-10. V2 didn't light up. Veried that V2 still works on my 2000 silverado. Would appreciate any input.

If the device was connect to the S-10 via the OBDII cable and did not power (and still works on your vehicle) it is simply due to the device not getting power from the vehicle. This is pretty interesting as I would have expected the OBDII connector on the vehicle to be identical.
Have a look at the 'Bench Harness Tutorial' available under the 'Help->Tutorials' menu option of the Scan and Tune tools. It looks like pin 16 supply the 12V power which you might want to verify with a multimeter.

Thanks, we checked the fuses and the cigarette lighter fuse was blown. Replaced and V2 connects.
