I've got a 98 Z28 where the traction control hasn't worked since I got it, and the dash light is lit. ABS works fine.

In scantool, go Edit->Properties->Advanced and enable Check/Clear DTC's for All Modules.
Then when the scantool collects DTC's, it will do so from all modules.
