Permanent mount under Camaro dash?

Anyone here permanently mounted their interface under the dash? I have v1 so it would be pretty easy, this way I could always leave my wideband connected to the interface and my wires would be hidden. Just pull the USB cable out when I need to log and I'm good to go. My only worry is heat, not sure how hot it gets under there and if the interface can be damaged easily from heat?

I've got my 2j9 under my dash and there is no drama.
Its not a Camaro but it might be some consolation.

Mine is under the passenger seat. Cables run under the carpet. And the usb cable is easily accessible to hook the laptop up. Also got an lm-2 under the dash. I wouldn't call any of it permanent but it rarely leaves the car.
