Hope it works out better for you, thanks for the support up to now.
LOL, too funny.
I doubt I will get around to mapping your OS this year.
I see what the issue is, long story short is Cummins have a 'bug' I guess I'll call it where they can have two files that can have different mapping and checksum configurations but share the same OS...
It's one of those annoying situations where GM are crossing between controllers. Eg a 2019 1500 5.3L might still be using the E92 or it might be the updated E90 ECM.
As a general rule if the...
Well it has been the 'only' way since V7 came out all those years ago :lookaround:
Not sure what was going on with the T43 selection initially but I'm glad it worked for you in the end.
This only changes the meta data in the file, it is not used for changing the VIN in the TCM.
As I mentioned above, the VIN is not changed during a flash so changing the VIN in the file (which is all...
My test just now indicates everything is working as expected in V7 (using TCM P/N 24239352 with OS 24270599 in it).
Check current VIN:
23103
Program New VIN:
23104
Check new VIN after...
20 seconds should be plenty :sly:
Ok good, appreciate that on so many occasions the reason the VIN will not 'stick' is because of people not having the correct bench power setups which I went I...
What TCM model?
A new VIN is only stored in RAM until the TCM (or ECM) powers down, eg, IGN Off. If you aren't waiting long enough (say 10 - 20 seconds) when the IGN is turned off or if on a bench...
Restricting to a VIN is not the way to go, yes I know it is in there and it is there because some people have a use for it, but it has its limitations as you've experienced.
1 - The VIN can easily...
But because there is no individual or unique information in the distributed xcal files that could be used to lock tunes to I'm not sure how it could be expected to be done, but if you have any...
There is no ECM S/N because that file probably wasn't read from the ECM (Incal, Insite .xcal sourced correct?), not sure how you could expect to lock a file to an ECM S/N when it isn't read from the...
Probably isn't an E92 at all, in 2019 GM changed the 5.3L ECM and it now uses a new ECM called an E90 (which we don't and maybe never will support).
In a recent software update we have added checks...
That is the wrong serial number, that is the Engine Serial Number, not the ECM serial number.
Scroll down a little on that screen and you will see the ECM Serial Number.
Only about 9 years ago
Certainly for Cummins no Dodge from 2010 up has ever had DTC disable options.
No you can't and the non HD tuner does not support code removal either.
EFILive didn't source these for a collection because the ECM's could be read out, granted often people would want to get rid of any tune in there before starting
TechII will happily wipe out / corrupt serial numbers of controllers (LB7 Duramax's suffer this with Tech-II as well), but the S/N is not something EFILive will or can change.
It's not normally...
It will be a while off because currently the V8 software is in the editor beta phase, there is too many changes to push out another update without that being functional.
"GM tells us there are 69,904 lines of code required to control the DFM’s various cylinder firing sequences."
Anyone got a copy ? :rotflmao:
Interesting, not sure why it shows as valid in V8 but V7 doesn't like it, I'll take a closer look next week.
Meanwhile unless you are really needing to run with the latest release you could always...
Can you post the file you are having issue with up here please.
Sorry I'm not sure how to help then if it was the original read from the vehicle.
