I went ahead and put a pull up wire in, and the tach is now functional. This is the diagram I used.

That I would not know for certainty. Best way to check?

Hey guys, have a 1995 S10 that I swapped with an LM4 out of a trailblazer. The tachometer in the s10 doesn't show rpm with the engine running. I have heard you have to have a "pull up wire" with a...
Look at this!!!! lol

Can someone else besides Ross explain? Sorry for the noob questions...
This is awesome to hear! Good data with known constants and variables!
Any thoughts? I would greatly appreciate it!
(Hands together in praying stance...) Please say no!
Question, does this also affect the EGR capabilities of the earlier trucks as well? Such as 03-06?
Any reason why the engineers have this table? Why not make this graph linear instead of a curve? Or why not actually make this like the Duramax values?
I have a theory it corresponds to the...
Not really sure and am anxious to hear what everyone says. Probably depends on a multitude of things, such as can you build enough airflow, safety of the motor, and other things... A lot of old...
^^^ He has a point. You need to look at your Enable Fuel and Disable Fuel control in your Boost Folder. That will let you command whether or not you or the computer is controlling the vanes. If I...
Start with scanning first. Make a couple logs and understand what is going on in the engine. Then make small changes to your tune to start with. Only tables you should adjust for now are boost, fuel,...

Here is my idle data using my created fuel flow pid. I did not take into account for the pilot injection. I need to go back and look at it. However, kind neat seeing how retarding the...
Made some progress today on my fueling rate pids. As soon as I get home, ill post some screen shots of my findings with injection timing and idling.
Also have a question about the different map sensors, but have to find a log that will show a good example of my question

Made some progress today. Here is my Calculated Pids and a log to show they work! Haven't decided in what units I want to display the fuel flow pids in yet, so the numbers really dont mean anything...
Sounds great! I will see what I can come up with. I'll let you guys know once I make it. Thanks for all of your help!
Thanks for the info killerbee, wasn't entirely sure of the actual units behind commanded fuel rate.
I guess what I am trying to get at is a fuel flow rate in mm3/sec, or min. That way I can see...
Sorry, I guess when rereading what I wrote, Fuel Rail Pressure is not really dependent of RPM lol. I knew you could command any FRP within reason, but don't know why I just didn't say that lol... ...
I kinda wondered since fuel pressure is related to rpms.... thanks fpr confirming my suspcisions bballer!
Thanks joecar!
For the fuel rate pid, I was going to use commanded fuel rate, mm3 and engine speed, rpm. Basically take mm3/rpm = my fuel rate pid.
I am going to check out your txt file as soon...
Hey guys, I need some help with the scan tool and making my own PIDs. Probably should be in the Scanning section of the forum, but I figured with it being diesel related, I would have the best of...
