My buddy (and first tune attempt) has a 98 Firebird with an LS1, 3600 rpm stall, according to the dyno, GM "Hot cam" headers and exhaust. After tuning, we get about 319 rwhp. Doing the math puts...
I'm not sure what you mean about the bog being standard in the cam department. I don't experience any bog, and it feels like it runs OK, but as soon as closed loop activates the AFR comes in line.
...
It is mounted pre-cat bolted in the side of the exhaust pipe. Is there reversion there? It works OK closed loop as far as fuel trims are concerned.
What mixture do I want to shoot for when cold?
What about WOT?
Any idea why I have to disable cat converter protection to fix my WOT mixtures?
Thanks.
I guess nobody seen this, or else noone knows. I fixed my WOT problem by disabling Cat Protection. I am now running close to 12.3 afr WOT.
Haven't addressed the cold problem yet.
I thought the simple matter of reflashing the computer would erase (reset) the fuel trims.
Is this wrong?
I am working on a 98 Firebird LS1 with auto trans. I have my VE table dialed in, and am working on the MAF table since the BENs are different with it plugged in vs SD mode. After I get it dialed...
I am working on a 98 Firebird LS1 auto trans. I have the VE table dialed in, and am attempting to dial in the MAF. I am also logging STFT and LTFT, just because. I have disabled B3801 (LTFT...
All of my RAFIG and RAFPN is zero or very close through the temp scale.
I am having trouble deciding what to do with the timing and timers due to my car being a 98 Firebird that doesn't have the...
So, are you saying that a RAFIG and RAFPN of zero is NOT desirable?
I have heard to just increase the desired airflow, but is that not designed to bring RAF** in line?
Nope. Runs terrible with a stock file.
I am going to attempt to load my tune and my idle log when the car is dying. I've not done this before, so I hope it works. The log is setting still with a/c off. Shifting from park to drive and...
Yes. I'm staying with the current thermostat. Thanks for your input.
Thanks Again
I am tuning for the first time. I got a base file from wait4me, and the car seems to run OK and idles OK but surges or bucks at light loads. The idle surges sometimes after a throttle change, and...
So, would stock settings on a 195'F stat be a good thing for a street car then?
In almost all of the aftermarket tunes that I have seen, and that has been very few, the coolant fan temps have all been lowered. I can understand this if the thermostat has been lowered to maybe...
I did print and read and perform the auto ve with my wideband. My fuel trims are all OK, until I plug in the MAF, so I guess I need to redo the MAF tables, but I'm not sure how.
Is there a step...
I am just getting started on tuning. I have purchased EFI live and have done a few logs and updated my buddy's car. It is a 98 Firebird LS1 that has a bigger cam that lopes at idle, surges and dies...
Sorry, I thought I put that in there. It is the Innovate LM2 single channel.
I am having problems with my new WB sensor. When I first got it, it was working OK, or so I thought. This is my first car and first time, but I have to do a "free air" calibration every time I...
Is there a place that has a step-by-step instructions on proper tuning for gas and diesel engines? I would really like to have some more theory before getting too deep.
Thanks.
I have my first tune in the shop for a buddy of mine. He has built it a little bit, and the cam lopes at idle. I have not tried to perform a tune yet, but his already has a custom tune that was...
