The factory ignition is already so good that without the presence of misfires I doubt any difference could be measured.
One would have to have very good test equipment and edge the tune to the...
Well I can't say too much that's concrete yet until getting more results and running additional and different tests... but
I can say that acetone defintately changes the way the fuel burns in the...
Different company, same item.
I do a lot of fuel & mileage testing and it's true that almost none of the devices work.
Lately I've been testing acetone as an additive.
Some people running in...
It's one of the many idle tables, and yes they all work in OLSD mode.
It's a knock-off of the "fuel-catalyzer" and the original "vitalizer" product that came out in the early 90's.
I have already tested it very thoroughly. It does absolutely nothing.
You will get...
Bucking and surging usually means lean.
You'll have to look around in the VE and main spark tables in the area this is happening.
Your main spark table may not mesh well with your new idle spark...
I can't look at any of the files until tonight.
A fouled plug probably wouldn't show on your log.
Sometimes if the insulator gets wet from fuel the spark shorts down the insulator instead of...
That's normal when the engine is dying because of the misfires adding pressure to the intake manifold.
I think maybe your plugs got a little fouled from the beginning of the process, or the cold...
Are you working on the idle at full operating temp? or while it's still cold and warming up?
I'd triple check for vacuum leaks and check the plugs for fouling.
I don't agree at all. I think someone has innocently confused a wideband O2 sensor with a much more complex (and expensive) 5-gas analyzer.
A wideband doesn't do all of that... not at all.
A...
There's a post on LS1tech
http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=503274
where KVU talks a little about changing AFR.
The fuel, spark, AFR, and engine loading are all very inter-related...
You use a wideband and datalogging.
It depends on what the engine responds best to.
You have to keep some things in mind and in perspective.
Your AFR on the NB or WBO2 isn't neccessarily the AFR...
1998
and 1998
:frown:
I also would not use auto-VE tuning for idle or anything around idle either.
It's not going to work correctly first of all.
Second, you're likely not going to get best idle at 14.6:1 AFR anyway....
People do this all the time.
If the N2O isn't spraying directly on the IAT it will not go down to -70 or anywhere near that. It will read an average of the N2O when mixed with the normal ambient...
These are all my opinions here:
The hardest part will be getting a decently smooth idle, so of course all the idle tables apply, including idle speed & spark, etc...
A cam like that generally...
vettes use the throttle as the IAC. I'd log while it's doing this to see what exactly is going on.
No answer yet.
ttt.
pm me with your email please.
.. that is if you meant for me to send the bin.
I use EFI-live and mine doesn't erase the idle learn when I flash.
Unhooking the battery definately does and you can tell the second you start it.
can't hurt to try.
I wish I was having as...
Great news.
unhooking the battery will encourage the idle learn to correct faster since it forgets all the old stuff.
There are several tables for after-start enrichment, and that sounds like the problem to me.
When you start cold, you're in the coolant corrected open-loop which adds a lot of fuel.
When you...
I'm curious to see the results as well. It sounds like an experiment that I'd do given a chance.
What's wrong with your hot idle by the way? perhaps there's an easy solution.
Anyone want to take a look at the bin ? I could mail it tonight after work.
Who's going to be the first to get a CO for a 1998 vette?
This one sure needs it.
