No, they break regardless of whether the cam is aftermarket or stock. They just plain suck. We replace them very regularly.

Not sure if it helps at all, but here is a current tune I am working with with my truck. It's not yet perfect on my truck, so by no means will it be on yours, let alone with e-85.
